The Blu Cru raring to go after Bronkhorstspruit delay
The Blu Cru is finally ready to race its first National following the postponement of the Bronkhorstspruit 2025 South African Cross Country Motorcycle Championship in March. The Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha team is now ready to finally go on full attack at the BeefCor Bronkhorstspruit race this Saturday, 29 March.
“The season was supposed to start a while ago, but the Bronkhorstspruit season opener was postponed to the coming weekend because it was simply too wet to race,” Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha team boss Harry Grobler explains. “So it’s been a long wait. Now we can at last look forward to a really true blue season ahead!”
Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha has a strong line-up primed for action at Bronkhorstspruit. Flat out Maddy Malan and the experienced Hayden Louw lead the Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha attack on two factory OR 1 Yamaha YZ 450 FXs. They’re backed by the exciting Tyron Beverly and loyal Yamaha man Bryce Peterson on a pair of OR 3 class Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha YZ 250 FXs.
Gerhard Vorster rides Seniors while Warrick van Schalkwyk is Blu Cru’s Masters man, both of them riding 2025 specification Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha’s YZ 450 FXs. Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha has a most exciting 125 High School attack, with regular winner Murray Smith and Tyler Peterson in the saddle. Ruald Potgieter will race 85 Seniors and Ryan Wichmann is in the 65cc class.
Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha has meantime enjoyed a cracking start to the 2025 season in regional events, notably in the Gauteng GXCC series. Double winner Murray Smith and Tyler Peterson have gone unbeaten in two High School rounds. Maddy Malan has shown great pace with a pair of seconds in OR1, Bryce Petersen and Tyron Beverly have been on point in OR3 and Ruald Potgieter has had a strong run in 85cc.
“So watch out!” Harry Grobler concludes. “The Blu Cru is ready to race. We are beyond excited for the albeit delayed first National Cross Country at Bronkhorstspruit following a great warm up at the opening Gauteng GXCC regional where we have had some winning results. Everest Wealth Ridgeway Racing Yamaha is after far more this weekend. Bring it on!”
