Leyton had an excellent start from 2nd place taking the lead on lap 1. Unfortunately, another competitor running in 4th out-braked himself into Turn 1 on lap 2 which caused a collision. Leyton unfortunately got tagged by the car running in 2nd which spun him around. He rejoined in 6th and within 2 laps was challenging for 3rd when damage from the earlier contact caused a rear-end failure which sent him him into the unforgiving walls of Norisring.
Leyton will start Race 2 tomorrow from 3rd and will undoubtedly again be challenging for the top spot given his speed and incredible pace.
Race 2 will be Live Streamed on YouTube tomorrow at 10:30 am on the BMW M2 Cup Channel.
