South African rising star Jarrod Waberski made a memorable debut in the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup this past weekend (12 April 2025), finishing 5th in the Silver Cup class and 24th overall in the grueling six-hour endurance race at Circuit Paul Ricard.

Driving the Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Jarrod joined teammates Will Moore and Mex Jansen for Round 1 of the championship. The trio started from the mid-30s on the grid and delivered a determined performance, steadily climbing through the field in one of the most competitive GT3 environments in global motorsport.

The race marked several major milestones for Jarrod:
🔹 His first-ever endurance race
🔹 His first race with teammates
🔹 His first time racing in the dark

Despite the steep learning curve, Jarrod rose to the occasion with a confident double stint under the night sky, showcasing speed, focus, and maturity well beyond his experience in GT racing.

“Wow, what a weekend! P5 in class and P24 overall in my debut GT World Challenge Europe race!” said Jarrod. “There were a lot of firsts for me this weekend, being thrown into the deep end with my first proper GT experience. Nonetheless, I’ve come out learning so much during the week and especially during my double stint in the night. I’ll take all this knowledge back and come back even stronger for Round 2 at Monza!”

Jarrod also expressed his gratitude: “Massive thank you to my teammates for a mega race and to everyone at Century Motorsport for all the hard work and giving us a solid start to the year. And of course, a big thank you to everyone who tuned in and supported us either at the track or from home—your support means the world.”

The team now looks ahead to Round 2 at Monza, where Jarrod will continue to build on the momentum from his impressive endurance racing debut.
