Round 3 of the South African Rotax MAX Challenge Kart Championships is all set to ignite the Formula-K Raceway this weekend. The event promises intense competition, with reigning National and Northern Regions Bambino Champion Adriaan Steyn vying for his first national heat victory in the Micro MAX class.

Adriaan is currently fourth in the championship, just over 30 points behind the leader and fellow Rand Kart Club driver Matthew Shuttleworth. While Adriaan is the top-placed rookie, he has not had the start he would have liked. His recent form, however, in the regional competition bodes well for his chances of a good result. While the Formula-K Raceway offers various layouts, the promoter has decided that competitors will take on the 1612-metre E-Layout of the circuit.

The action started on Thursday with an unofficial practice, followed by an official practice on Friday. Micro MAX qualifying is scheduled for 16:07 on Friday ahead of Saturday’s three race heats. And here’s the best part: entry is free, making this event accessible to all motorsport enthusiasts. We can’t wait to see you there!

Adriaan extends his thanks to Greensky, Sparco, Q4 Fuels and Parolin Racing SA.
