South African racing driver Andrew Rackstraw is targeting the overall 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup GB title this season, driving for the reigning teams’ champions Rosland Gold Century Motorsport.
Andrew became National Investchem Formula 1600 champion in 2021, raced in rounds of the South African Endurance series – winning the 2022 Cape 9 Hours in an Audi R8 GT3, as well as driving a Ginetta G57 LMP3 – and scoring multiple South African Touring Car race victories before moving to the UK in 2024 to progress his motorsports career in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
It didn’t take the 23-year old Capetonian long to make his mark in British motorsport, scoring his Porsche Carrera Cup GB maiden lights-to-flag race victory at Thruxton in just the third race meeting of the series.
That’s given Andrew the confidence to return to the Pro category this year – and with support from Chemical Logistics, InvestChem and Sparco, he’ll drive a pure-bred four-litre six-cylinder 510bhp rear-wheel drive Porsche Carrera 911 GT3 Cup car, prepared and run by the reigning Porsche Carrera Cup GB driver and team champions Rosland Gold Century Motorsport.
“I’m incredibly excited for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB season to get started, as there has been a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes to make sure we are on top of our game ahead of round one at Donington,” says Andrew.
“Donington is a very special circuit to me, as it was the first track I tested a Porsche Cup car at and fell in love instantly!
“Last year we learned a lot about each track, none of them I’d raced on before, and how to extract the most out of the 911 GT3 Cup car.
“This year racing for Rosland Gold Century Motorsport is a great honour and privilege – and I honestly couldn’t ask for anything better than having George Gamble, the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion, as my team-mate.
“The team and I have gotten along like a duck to water, and we are all very confident that this is the year to go for the title.”
The 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup GB has two points-scoring races at eight race meetings around the country, starting at Donington Park in Derbyshire on 26/27 April.
