The Investchem Formula 1600 is arriving in Gqeberha this weekend, and Round 4 of the championship is set to take place at the Aldo Scribante Racetrack. It’s worth noting that KC Ensor-Smith, a multiple national karting champion and single-seater rookie, will be making his circuit debut at the Eastern Cape circuit.
Fresh off an impressive performance in karting over the weekend, Ensor-Smith is currently ranked sixth in the championship, going into the fourth round of SA’s top single-seater class. Despite being a rookie, the Witbank teenager has already secured two fourth-place finishes, placing him behind more experienced drivers.
“I’m looking forward to racing at the Scribante circuit, even though it’s a new challenge. However, all the courses this season are new to me. After experiencing a gearbox issue in the last round, we’re optimistic that it won’t happen again and can concentrate on earning some good points. Although I narrowly missed the podium twice before, I remain determined and hungry to give it my all and secure a spot on it this weekend. Thank you to African Heating, Vitro Frameless, and Master Stairs for the support once again.”
Round 4 will see three practice sessions on Friday, followed by qualifying and two races on Saturday. A live stream feed will be available on the Extreme Festival Facebook page.
