Fresh from being crowned the National Senior MAX Karting Champion, KC Ensor-Smith returns to the circuit this weekend for the penultimate round of the Investchem Formula 1600 Championship.
The now four-time national karting champion heads to Killarney International Raceway for the second time this season as the National Extreme Festival returns for the second leg of its tour. Currently ranked sixth in the championship, Ensor-Smith, a rookie in the championship, has been steadily improving over the season. He has managed several top-four finishes, boasting a best of third in the previous round. No doubt his focus will be on battling for a podium again this weekend.
“Excited at the prospect of racing at Killarney again. I made my circuit debut there in March without any significant car experience or knowledge of the circuit. So this time round I have some data to fall back on. Over the season, we’ve ironed out some issues on the car, which has performed better each time. I’d love to battle for the podium again, maybe even the win,” stated Ensor-Smith.
Three practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, followed by a Saturday morning Qualifying Session at 08:00. Two ten-lap races are planned for Saturday at 11:00 and 13:55. The event will be live-streamed on race day and available on the Extreme Festival Facebook page.
