The 2025 Astron Energy Polo Cup is set to deliver another exciting instalment as the National Extreme Festival, powered by Coca-Cola, makes its highly anticipated return to one of South Africa’s most iconic circuits. This venue, which last hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1993, is steeped in history and provides the perfect backdrop for the second round of the fiercely competitive one-make series.

Now in its 29th season, the Polo Cup remains a proving ground for South Africa’s top young talents, and Tyler Robinson is firmly establishing herself as a championship contender. Following a stellar opening round at Killarney International Raceway, where she secured fourth place overall, the former FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars finalist arrives at Round 2 brimming with confidence.

The season opener in Cape Town showcased Tyler’s talent. A standout moment occurred during Friday’s qualifying session when she stunned everyone by becoming the second female driver in Polo Cup history to secure a pole position, following in the footsteps of her mentor and driving coach, Tasmin Pepper.

“The level of competition in the Astron Energy Polo Cup is incredibly high, so to top the qualifying session was an unbelievable feeling,” Tyler reflected after her impressive performance. “I’m proud of how we started the season, and it shows that all the hard work during the off-season is paying off.”

Tyler is eager to carry her momentum into Round 2, with the championship battle intensifying. The circuit’s high-speed layout and technical demands will test both driver skill and racecraft, but she is well-prepared for the challenge after her breakthrough performance at Killarney.

“The key this weekend will be to maximise every session. Qualifying will be crucial, and with the pace we had in Round 1, I’m confident we can fight at the front again,” she said. “I know the team has been working hard to ensure we’re in the best possible position, and I’m eager to get back on track.”

As one of the headline acts in next weekend’s National Extreme Festival, the Astron Energy Polo Cup promises to deliver wheel-to-wheel action. With Tyler Robinson already proving she has the pace to contend at the sharp end, all eyes will be on her as she looks to challenge for podiums and strengthen her championship position.
