Round 2 of the Rok Cup South Africa delivered non-stop action as the nation’s most talented young karters went head-to-head in a high-stakes test of speed and control, a proving ground often dubbed the “Formula 1 for kids.” Among the standout performers was 9 year old Egor Grishin, who turned heads with a confident and composed display across all three heats.

The level of competition was fierce, with mere hundredths of a second separating the pack. Egor showed early promise in Race 1, surging into the lead before a minor error opened the door for a challenge. He responded with determination, engaging in an intense wheel to wheel battle with #24 Noah Chronje that kept spectators on edge.

Race 2 brought its own challenges, with several drivers caught out by tricky track conditions. Egor kept his cool and delivered a clean, consistent performance, earning a stronger grid position for the final race.

In Race 3, he faced relentless pressure from #50 Ronald Venter. Lap after lap, Egor held his line with sharp instincts and disciplined racecraft. His efforts were rewarded with the fastest lap on the final circuit and a hard-fought 6th place overall, a commendable result in such a tightly contested field.

Egor Grishin continues to show signs of a bright future in motorsport. With every round, he grows in confidence and capability, a name to watch as the season unfolds.
