Another good weekend for Red-Lined Motorsport at the Renergen 400
Red-Lined Motorsport enjoyed another positive outing at the Renergen Welkom 400, the penultimate round of the South African Rally-Raid Championship, which took place in the bush around Welkom’s Phakisa Freeway over the weekend.
Johan de Bruyn and Gerhard Schutte kept their FIA T1 championship aspirations wide open with a second overall aboard their Red-Lined REVO with an impressive four of the top five in this class being Red-Lined manufactured machines. Dutch crew Dave Klaassen and Tessa Rooth meanwhile enjoyed a great debut aboard their newly acquired Daklapack Rallysport REVO T1+ with a top 10 result amongst an extremely competitive world class field.
“Overall, we had a good weekend,” Red-Lined Motorsport CEO Terence Marsh confirmed. “Johan de Bruyn and Gerhard Schutte kept their fight for the FIA T1 championship on track with a clean and clinical run to second in class in their Red-Lined REVO. We now have everything to play for next month as we head off to the final event of the year.
“The Heinlein brothers, Gerhard and Nickus, finished in an impressive fifth overall first time out in the T1 class in their Red-Lined VK56. Dutchman Rients Hofstra, our Red-Lined Europe CEO also made a most impressive debut as he fought for the T1 class lead throughout the weekend alongside Wade Harris in their DaklaPack VK50. They however experienced a few technical gremlins, which eventually led to their being time barred on Saturday afternoon.
“Another Dutch Daklapack Rallysport crew, Dave Klaassen and Tessa Rooth enjoyed an impressive T1+ debut en route to their top ten finish in the ex-Chris Visser Dragon Energy powered REVO T1+. The top-class excitement now hinges around Chris Visser and Albertus Venter taking delivery of our new biturbo V6 powered Red-Lined REVO T1+ GT-R which we will be launching soon!
“A special thanks as always to our incredible Red-Lined team for another great collective effort in Welkom,” Marsh concluded. “Now our focus shifts to the South African Rally-Raid Championship finale in real Bushveld conditions at the Thabazimbi 400 on the 10th and 11th November.”
