Heavy rains in the Midvaal area in the week preceding the opening round of the 2025 Off Road North series led to the organisers of the 2025 Midvaal 300 deciding to postpone the event by a week to Saturday 1 March 2025
The heavy rainfall predicted to continue well into the weekend led the organisers to take the difficult decision to postpone the opening round of the championship in the interests of safety and to avoid environmental damage to the route. The good news is that the forecast for the revised date, Saturday 1 March 2025, looks great and spectators can expect an action-packed day’s off road racing with a bumper field of 40 cars entered.
Competitors will set off from the Meyerton Rugby Club at 09:00 on Saturday morning on a 20km Prologue course that will determine the start order for the main race. The leading competitor will start the main race at 12 noon from the Midvaal Raceway followed by the rest of the field. Crews must then complete two loops of approximately 120km each.
In addition to an action-packed day’s racing fans can enjoy a full day’s live entertainment including music, a car show, beverage tent, food stalls and kids entertainment throughout the day at the Meyerton Rugby Club. The admission fee is R50 per person with children under 12 yrs admitted free of charge.
