The Extreme Festival returns to the Western Cape this weekend and with it the CompCare Polo Cup Championship. While QVWI Motorsport is the newest team to the paddock, the team will be making their Cape circuit debut in the hands of experienced racer Farhaan Basha who is no stranger to the Killarney International Raceway.

Basha and his new team made a successful debut at the opening round of the 2023 season where the Polo Cup brigade raced at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit as a support category to the official Kyalami 9 Hour event. Despite some early season gremlins, Basha performed admirably to finish sixth in Race 1 and fourth in Race 2. He will therefore be aiming to improve on those results with the team’s first podium.

“After Kyalami I’m feeling more confident in the car. We had some early issues that we eventually managed to sort out so I’m eager to get out on the circuit on Friday morning without any issues. Hopefully we can be fast straight out of the gate. I’d also love nothing more than to showcase the QVWI Motorsport Polo at the front of the pack in Cape Town,” said Basha.

Friday will see three practice sessions ahead of Qualifying while racing commences on Saturday with the first race at 12:10 and the second at 15:30. The event will be live-streamed on the Extreme Festival social media platforms.
