The penultimate round of the 2023 GB3 Championship will be taking place in Holland this weekend (14 – 15 October 2023) and Jarrod Waberski is ready to take on the challenge that is Zandvoort.
The 4.3km circuit offers fast, sweeping, cambered corners which offer multiple overtaking opportunities, whilst the tight hairpin is a great test for braking and turn-in ability. Although this will be Jarrod’s first trip to the circuit, he has done extensive simulator training.
“The season has been a challenging one and together with my incredible team at Fortec Motorsport, we have made extensive changes to the car since the beginning of the year. Whilst I have had good race pace, I have had really bad luck in the qualifying sessions, which has put me on the back foot for more than one race weekend,” explained Jarrod.
“I think at this level of motorsport, it’s not just vehicle prep that makes a difference. I have spent hours training on the simulator and in the gym and I do believe this will also have an impact on my performance.”
“It is always a great experience getting to race at a new circuit and I relish the opportunity to race at Zandvoort,” he concluded.
Despite having some difficult races, Jarrod continues to fly the South African flag high and is lying ninth in the championship standings, with a real chance of making up two positions if the weekend goes well. This is no small feat for the BRDC Rising Star, in his debut GB3 season.
Racing will streamed live on the GB3 channels.
