Following a dominant performance at the season opener, East London’s Caleb Odendaal is set to continue his 2025 Junior MAX campaign at the second round of the Northern Regions Rotax Karting Championship this weekend at Vereeniging Kart Circuit.

Odendaal, a three-time national champion and Kart Republic Africa ambassador, proved his class at Formula-K Raceway earlier this season by securing two victories from three heats to claim the overall win. Now, he faces a fresh challenge at the technical Vereeniging layout, where he will look to maintain his momentum against some of the country’s best young talents.

“The first round was a fantastic way to start the season,” Odendaal said. “Vereeniging is a different kind of track, so we’ve been working hard to be as prepared as possible. The goal is to build on our success and keep pushing forward.”

A strong showing at the recent national round in Cape Town has further bolstered the 12-year-old’s confidence. With a proven ability to adapt quickly and deliver under pressure, he remains one of the favourites heading into the weekend. However, the competition will be fierce, with a talented Junior MAX field eager to close the gap. The flowing yet technical nature of the Vereeniging circuit will test both driver skill and kart setup, ensuring an intense battle for the top step of the podium.

With the championship still in its early stages, another strong result will further solidify Odendaal’s title aspirations. As he prepares to take to the track, all eyes will be on whether he can continue his winning ways in what promises to be an action-packed weekend of racing.
