Saturday was locked and loaded with mist and mayhem for the second round of the WPMC Regional at Killarney International Raceway.
Cronje, a seemingly Cape Town regular, looked primed and unperturbed as the day commenced with its warmup.
In good company with teammate Aaron Mason, Cronje set out for qualifying with good intention but sadly came off the track with a less than desired outcome. Having lost his nose cone on the last lap, Noah was deemed underweight which unfortunately sent him to the back of the grid for the start of Heat One.
The tears were warranted but they weren’t going to stop this lad from giving it his all. Heat One proved to be in Cronje’s favour as he drove diligently from the back of the grid to fall into third place behind Kito Kart’s, Logan Roehrig.
Team RPM dominated Heat Two as Mason and Cronje joined forces in all eight laps to fend off a hungry Roehrig, finishing in first and second respectively.
With the track still wet from the unrelenting Cape Town mist, Cronje maneuvered his kart with precision in Heat Three to finish solidly in second place.
A seemingly worthwhile trip for Cronje as he made his way back to Johannesburg yesterday with his second place trophy in hand and his ever burgeoning winning smile.
Well Done Noah.
