Joint Kid ROK championship leader Kayde Cornofsky is set to resume his bid for a maiden national karting title as he heads to the Killarney International Raceway this weekend for the penultimate round of the MSA National ROK Karting Championship.
In his second full season of Kid ROK, Cornofsky shares the championship lead and the number of wins (three) with his on-track rival, Logan Billau. Racing out of the Xtreme Racing Team stable under the watchful eye of Leeroy Poulter, Cornofsky has scored a further three podiums to be one of the favourites for this weekend’s overall victory. In his 2022 rookie season, Cornofsky recorded two eighth-place finishes and a tenth at the Cape round.
“We’re heading to Cape Town with the championship still very much up for grabs. Logan and I have been going head-to-head since the opening round, and this weekend will be an excellent time to take the outright lead heading to Gauteng for the finale. Once again, we do not know how the weather will affect the event but regardless I am prepared for anything.”
Saturday’s Qualifying is scheduled for 10:18, with three 10-lap heats set for 11:28, 13:13 and 14:23, respectively.
