Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled showdown as Micro MAX driver Luhan de Wet makes his highly-anticipated return to Formula-K Raceway this weekend for the penultimate round of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship. With fierce resolve, he aims to narrow the gap and challenge the current championship leader.
Luhan, currently second in the points standings, has been a consistent podium finisher with 13 top-three finishes but hasn’t clinched a regional heat victory since the opening round. As he gears up for the next race, he’s determined to draw on his triumphant national performance at the Benoni circuit, where he clinched two heat wins and the overall victory. With a 35-point gap to close on the leader, Luhan is poised for an electrifying comeback.
“This weekend is crucial for the championship,” stated Luhan. “We worked hard all season and have overcome numerous challenges to be in this position. While it’s a significant margin to make up, I hope we can repeat our national round success and minimise Matthew’s (Shuttleworth) lead heading to the final round to give myself a chance at the title.”1
Saturday’s proceedings will kick off with a Warm-Up Session, followed by Qualifying before three race heats to determine the day’s winner. Spectators are allowed free entry, and a fully licensed bar and restaurant will be available to patrons.
Luhan thanks De Wet Automotive Service & Repairs, Motorsport Fanatix and Xtreme Racing Team for the support.
