Giordano on a come from behind Polo Cup mission
Giordano Lupini has confirmed that he will complete the 2023 CompCare Polo Cup season.
Lupini missed the opening race at Kyalami, but returned for a wildcard one-off at Killarney, where he sensationally scored a grand slam of pole position, and both race wins, with the fastest lap in each, too. Gio’s Tork Craft team has now secured the necessary budget to race the remaining five Polo Cup rounds.
“When we entered Killarney, it was very much a one-off at our home track,” Giordano explained. “Fortunately, that went very well and we enjoyed a perfect weekend. That has convinced our sponsors to back me for the rest of the year. So special thanks to Tork Craft tools, Pabar Automotive Components, Red Earth Projects, Bullion IT and AcciDent Guru for your belief in us, and to everyone else supporting us this year!
“We are proud to have several backers still with us since my earliest karting and racing days, and it is an honour and a privilege to be able to represent them all in CompCare Polo Cup again this year. We still have a mountain to climb though. Missing the first two races puts us on the back foot, but that should make this season all the more interesting for everyone!
“Looking ahead, we have no home town advantage at the next race at Zwartkops on 20 May. In fact, it’s precisely the opposite as we will be striding into the lion’s den in Pretoria, which is most of our rivals’ home track. But we cannot wait… bring it on!”
*Giordano Lupini thanks Tork Craft Tools and Vermont Sales, Pabar Automotive Components, Red Earth Projects, Bullion IT, AcciDent Guru, Franschhoek Signs, Seldenrod, Wheel Worx, Nian du Toit Racing, and all his regular supporters and fans for their continued support.
