Luhan de Wet is set to kick off his 2025 karting season this weekend at Killarney International Raceway, using the event as valuable preparation for the upcoming South African Rotax MAX Challenge and Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championships. With the opening national round scheduled at the same venue in March, this weekend is a crucial opportunity to fine-tune his pace and racecraft.
Now entering his second season in the highly competitive Micro MAX class, Luhan, who races out of the Xtreme Racing Team stable, is determined to be crowned the 2025 national Micro MAX Champion. Having already shown strong potential in his rookie campaign, he aims to build on that experience and establish himself as a title contender from the outset.
“I’m excited to get back into the kart and start my 2025 season,” says Luhan. “I’ve been working hard to improve and am determined to fight for the national title this year. Winning the championship would mean everything to me, especially with the chance to represent South Africa at the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain.”
An official practice session (08:00) will kick off the day before Qualifying (09:10), which sets the grids for three 12-lap races (11:00, 13:40 and 15:52).
