Noah Cronje will participate in his second national karting event of the season as Round 2 of the MSA National ROK Cup Karting Championship takes place in Gauteng at the Formula-K Kart Circuit, Benoni this weekend.
Cronje, familiar with the Benoni circuit, competes in the Kid ROK class as a rookie this season. He had a highly successful 2022, winning two national championships and earning the title of double National Bambino Karting Champion. He is currently ranked second in the national Kid ROK championship after one round, with Logan Billau, the Round 1 winner, leading by 12 points.
“We will be looking to close the gap to Logan (Billau) this weekend by putting in three strong performances. Two weeks ago, we couldn’t quite find the proper setup around the FK circuit, but we’ve looked at the data and have made a few minor changes. So we are hopeful that this will see us improve. Big thank you to Sparco for the support,” said Cronje.
Kid ROK competitors will compete over ten laps and race around the 1 570 m anti-clockwise Track-A layout. On Friday, five official practice sessions will precede the afternoon’s qualifying set to start at 3:49 PM. On Saturday, three race heats are scheduled for 10:11 AM, 12:16 PM and 2:19 PM. Races will also be live-streamed on the day, with more information available from the event promoters.
