Kayde Cornofsky launched his 2025 Mini ROK campaign with a determined performance at Red Star Raceway, securing third overall despite a dramatic setback in the opening heat. The young driver, known for his resilience, overcame adversity to claim a well-earned podium finish in a fiercely contested season opener.
Cornofsky, the 2023 National Kid ROK Champion, has long been regarded as a rising star in the karting ranks. After stepping up to Mini ROK in 2024, he quickly established himself as a title contender. However, luck has not always been on his side, and after Heat 1, it seemed as though his misfortune at the home of ROK Cup karting in South Africa would continue.
In a race that saw him on course for a runner-up finish, Kayde was heartbreakingly spun around at the final corner of the final lap, relegating him to 12th place. The setback left him visibly frustrated, but he refused to let it define his weekend.
Eager to make amends, Cornofsky showcased his tenacity in the remaining heats. Digging deep, he delivered two impressive second-place finishes, proving his ability to bounce back under pressure. His consistent drive saw him classified third overall, a result that cements his position as a serious championship contender.
With the opening round behind him, Kayde will now shift his focus to the next challenge, determined to build on this strong performance and aim for an even better result in the upcoming races. If his comeback at Red Star Raceway is any indication, Cornofsky’s 2025 campaign promises to be one filled with relentless determination and podium potential.
