Pieter Holl clinches South African Cross Country Masters title
Pepson Plastics Scottish Cables Motul Factory Kawasaki Racing sent a small, sharp team up to the of the 2023 Trademore South African Cross Country Racing championship’s desert double header at Ganyesa over the weekend. The team not only returned with a trio of race wins under its belt, but also a new South African title in form of delighted Masters champion Pieter Holl.
“Pepson Plastics Kawasaki is celebrating another South African Cross Country Racing champion in Pieter Holl,” team principal Iain Pepper confirmed. “After an epic couple of days in the desert, Pieter completed a hat trick of Masters class wins on Friday, before coming home a close second to secure the 2023 National Cross Country Masters class title on Saturday. “We are all super-proud of this outstanding achievement!
“We may have taken a small team to the biggest race of the season, but we came away with more than our fair share of the laurels. Besides Pieter’s race win Friday, and second on Saturday to clinch the Masters title, young Jayden Boyce did us super proud with a superb ride throughout the weekend to deliver a double desert race IPC high school class victory.
“Ryan Angilley once again proved his off-road racing prowess with an impressive double finish and 10th in OR3 on Saturday despite a final lap crash. And our 85cc Junior star Jake Pretorius enjoyed fierce battles throughout the weekend en route to eighth on Friday and seventh in class on Saturday.
“Pepson Plastics Scottish Cables Motul Factory Kawasaki Racing thrived on new routes and the challenge of a tough, sandy track in another incredible weekend of desert racing. We are proud of our team’s determination and unwavering spirit, and especially of Pieter Holl, who brought us our third Kawasaki National Championship in three years. Let’s keep pushing!”
