In the opening round of the 2025 ROK Cup South Africa National Championship, Jack Moore, the reigning OK-Junior champion, showcased why he’s a force to be reckoned with as he embarked on the defence of the coveted title.
Despite cooler and tricky track conditions, brought on by the occasional drizzle, Jack was in top form, securing the season’s first pole position. With the No. 1 proudly displayed on his kart, the Eastern Cape native proved that he’s ready for the season’s championship battle and motivated to go head-to-head with a competitive field.
Jack demonstrated tremendous skill, grit, and determination throughout the day’s three heats. He claimed victory in a thrilling battle in the opening heat, showing his impressive racecraft. The second heat saw him finish as the runner-up, once again demonstrating an ability to stay in the hunt for the top spot.
The final heat was likely the most tricky and nail-biting affair, where Jack again found himself in a fierce tussle for the podium. After a tough battle, he crossed the line in third, completing a hat-trick of podium finishes for the day.
Jack was tied for the day’s victory when the results were tallied, but a countback ultimately saw him classified in second place. Nonetheless, it was a solid start to his 2025 campaign, with the multiple national champion showing that he is well in the hunt for another title.
Jack thanked all his supporters and team members, particularly his Xtreme Racing team, for their hard work. He also thanked his sponsors, Fleet Dynamics Group and Puma South Africa, for their continued backing.
With a performance like this, Jack Moore’s title defence is off to a promising start, and the championship battle for 2025 is sure to be one to watch!
