Jayden Goosen heads to the home of Volkswagen Motorsport in the Eastern Cape for the highly anticipated third round of the Volkswagen Rookie Cup. This series is a rousing battle between five drivers, all vying for the top honours. The winner of this prestigious cup earns a full factory drive in next season’s Astron Energy Polo Cup, adding to the excitement and anticipation of the event.
Entering its second season, Jayden competes against drivers who participated in the VW Rookie Cup in 2023, its inaugural season. He has already demonstrated that his rookie status does not affect his ability to compete against them. While the Pretoria driver completed a satisfactory debut in Cape Town, he endured a more challenging second round at his home circuit at Zwartkops.
As the class joins the National Extreme Festival, the five Polo Vivo drivers take on the Aldo Scribante Racetrack, a circuit they last visited as part of a testing program earlier this year.
The 16-race program on Saturday will start at 10:10. Spectator tickets can be bought at the Aldo Scribante Racetrack entrance gate for R100 per person. Children under 12 can enter for free. The entire race day program will be broadcast live on the Extreme Festival website – https://extremefestival.co.za/live/
Jayden thanks Sparco, N4 Autocraft, Liqui Moly, Pretoria Noord Toyota and Motorsport Fanatix™.
