Dunlop Winter Regional Festival will thrill the Pretoria faithful
Title sponsor Dunlop will quite literally paint Zwartkops yellow for the Regional Festival races at the popular Pretoria racetrack on 8 June. Dunlop cannot wait to welcome fans to a true festival atmosphere with more than enough Dunlop yellow to add a bit more glow to the show, all in the interests of a little winter warmth and charity.
“Dunlop and our Motorsport Suppliers ATS will literally paint the 8 June Zwartkops Regional Festival yellow,” an excited SRSA PR and events manager Joanne de Freitas confirmed. “So we invite Gauteng to come join us celebrate some great racing and fun with us, all in the interests of charity.
“The Dunlop Winter Regional Festival will celebrate our racing association with the circuit, the series and its many Dunlop shod categories. There will be three chances for a very lucky few fans to experience hot laps in some of South Africa’s most exciting race cars and we can’t wait to confirm who their chauffeurs will be too!
“Most important of all however, the Winter Festival is also all about Dunlop and the community giving back, and we are collecting blankets as part of our Charity Drive,” de Freitas concluded. “So we invite race fans, competitors and all involved to bring a blanket, or five, come to Zwartkops and enjoy a brilliant day of Dunlop Winter Regional Festival racing with us on Saturday 8 June!” Fans will find a large box for blanket donations will be placed at Dunlop’s Shed 1 Hospitality site in the pits.
The blankets donated will be distributed at local shelters to warm the people who need them most through the chilly winter months. Festival visitors will enjoy all the usual live music, food stalls and beer garden attractions, over and above face painting, stilt walkers, a balloon artist and even an ice rink and a special fun Dunlop 360 camera to add to the excitement.
Oh yes – the racing! There’s certainly something for everyone with everything from the thunder and speed of the Mobil 1 V8 SuperCars to the thrill of the pack in the PABAR VW Challenge and BMW M Performance Parts Race Series, the agile DOE Formula Vee partnered with CIM Lubri Fuel and the Ferro Energia 111 GT Sports & Saloons with SuperHatch.
So there you have it, diarise 8 June now, put those blankets aside, and get the braai, the tent and that cooler box ready for a splendid midwinter’s day of trackside at the Dunlop Winter Regional Festival. See you at Zwartkops!
