A fifth overall finish at the final round of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship saw Micro MAX rookie Luhan De Wet claim third in Gauteng’s regional karting competition.
Held at Zwartkops Kart Raceway on Saturday, 30 November, Luhan finished in the top five during each heat in another closely contended regional event. Despite going into the round with a chance of claiming the title, competitors all scored double points, significantly impacting their scoring.
“We just didn’t have the pace of the front runners today,” said Luhan. “My weekend was also somewhat spoilt after I was stuck behind a competitor and just couldn’t find a way past in the race’s early stages. By the time I passed, the leaders were already off into the distance. Well done to Matthew on winning the regional title today. He has been in top form throughout the season. I hope to convert all the knowledge and experience gained in my rookie season to an even better 2025 season. Thank you to everyone for the assistance, support, and encouragement.”
