In an impressive display, 2023 National Cadet Champion, Luhan De Wet, competed in his last event of the season while making his Kid ROK debut. He amazed everyone with an exceptional performance, securing an overall podium finish at the final round of the MSA Northern Regions ROK Kart Championships.
After qualifying in third, the newest member of the WORR Motorsport team managed to maintain his position from the lights to finish third before improving on that with a runner-up finish in Heat 2. The final heat would see the Ceturion resident again finish on the podium in third to cap off an impressive day of results ahead of what should be an exciting 2024.
“I was pretty tough out there today despite us not having much expectation. But after we qualified third and realised we had some decent pace, we knew we could at least fight for the podium. I had a few issues with the starts with the kart bogging down, but once the issue cleared, I could put in some good laps to finish on the podium in every heat. It’s been a long season, having competed in both Bambinos and Cadets, but I couldn’t do it without my family and sponsors. Thank you, everyone, for your support, and I look forward to next season, said De Wet.
De Wet thanks De Wet Automotive Performance Service and Repairs, Duratec Batteries Centurion, Alunite Pretoria, WORR Motorsport and Motorsport Fanatix.
