Bambino racing returns this weekend with the region’s youngest karting competitors out at the Vereeniging Kart Circuit for Round 2 of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship.
After his impressive triple podium, including a win in the opening round at Zwartkops Kart Raceway, the young and talented Alonzo De Oliveira is back in action. This time, he’s ready to challenge for regional karting honours against the equally promising class of 2024, including fellow 2023 rookie Sebastian Shuttleworth.
This weekend also counts towards the South African Rotax Max Challenge (SARMC) national championship, so it is crucial for drivers to perform well. With its flat and twisting layout, the Vereeniging track presents an actual test of speed where cornering is essential for a fast lap.
It all gets underway on Saturday with a Warm-Up Session ahead of Qualifying before three race heats conclude the day’s action. Spectators are welcome with entry free of charge.
Alonzo thanks Y2K Germiston, NBR Racing, MSLB Projects, Motorsport Fanatix, Karting-It All Starts Here, S.Y. Wholesale Butchery and Amigos Portugueses.
