Alonzo de Oliviera will return to Zwartkops Kart Raceway this weekend for Round 5 of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championships, marking the second half of the Gauteng regional competition.
Alonzo, who has had a sublime start to his 2024 campaign, leads the Bambino class, having recorded seven victories, four runner-up finishes, and a single third-place to finish on the podium during every heat so far. Zwartkops also served as the venue for the opening round, where Alonzo recorded his maiden victory in the final heat.
Ahead of the weekend, Alonzo shared that he cannot wait to be back in his kart after a very successful national outing a few weeks ago, where he won his first national heat. He also expressed excitement about racing at Zwartkops, a circuit that he really enjoys. He says his goal is to win all three heats and be better prepared for the final national round at the end of August.
Saturday’s program will commence with a warm-up session, qualifying, and three race heats. Entry to the circuit is free, and spectators are encouraged to attend.
