Round 2 of the National ROK Cup Kart Championships heads to the Killarney Kart Circuit in Cape Town, where Kayde Cornofsky will look to build on his strong start to the season. The Xtreme Racing Team driver arrives at the coastal venue sitting third in the championship standings after an impressive national opener that saw him secure two runner-up finishes.
Leading a formidable Northern Regions contingent, Cornofsky is determined to challenge the local stars who traditionally excel at their home circuit. While he has previous experience at Killarney, his 2024 rookie season presented a steep learning curve, with his best national result at the track being a fifth-place finish in the final heat. Now, with a year of top-level competition under his belt, Cornofsky is aiming for a significantly stronger performance.
“I’m feeling confident heading into this weekend,” said Cornofsky. “We showed great pace in the opening round, and I’ve been working hard to improve in every area. Killarney is a demanding track, but I know I have the speed to challenge at the front. The goal is to fight for the win, and I’m ready to take on the best.”
Cornofsky will tackle three race heats on Saturday, following a full day of practice sessions on Friday. With a competitive grid and plenty of championship points on the line, expect an action-packed weekend as he looks to strengthen his title campaign.
