Kayde Cornofsky delivered a competitive performance at Round 2 of the 2025 National ROK Cup Kart Championship, held at Killarney Kart Circuit in Cape Town, finishing fourth overall in the highly-contested Mini ROK class.
The Xtreme Racing Team driver qualified fourth and immediately showed strong pace in Heat 1. Locked in a fierce battle for the podium, Cornofsky kept his cool to bring the kart home in third place. Heat 2 was one of the closest races of the weekend. Kayde crossed the line a mere 0.89 seconds behind the winner in a photo-finish, but a post-race nose-cone penalty would see him demoted to third once again.
The final heat proved more challenging, with Cornofsky caught in a tight midfield fight. Despite the pressure, he managed to salvage sixth place, securing enough points to wrap up the weekend fourth overall. Reflecting on the weekend, Cornofsky said: “We had the pace to fight at the front, and even though the penalty in Heat 2 was tough to take, I’m proud of how we kept pushing. We’ll come back even stronger in Gqeberha.”
Round 3 of the National ROK Cup heads to the Celso Scribante Kart Circuit in Gqeberha next, where Kayde and the Xtreme Racing Team will look to build on their strong form.
Kayde is backed by Allegiance Properties, Canario Cornofsky Attorneys, Calisto’s Restaurant, Smith Garage, the 357 and AMW.
