Three-time national Rotax MAX Champion Caleb Odendaal is set to begin his quest for a fourth title as the 2025 South African Rotax MAX Challenge kicks off at Killarney Kart Circuit this weekend. Competing in the fiercely contested Junior MAX class, Odendaal will be up against some of the country’s top young talents in what promises to be a thrilling national opener.

A track where he has consistently excelled, Odendaal arrives in Cape Town confidently after a strong showing in February’s WPMC regional event, which he used as valuable preparation for the national season. With a determined mindset and elite fitness, Caleb is arguably one of the fittest drivers on the grid. He follows a rigorous training program that ensures he is at peak performance when the lights go out.

Backed by Legend Motors and supported by Kart Republic Africa, Caleb will take to the track on Thursday and most of Friday for official practice before a late Friday afternoon Qualifying session. Saturday’s sees the business end of the event with three 15-lap heats, where he will look to start his championship campaign on the front foot with top results.

“I’m excited to get the 2025 season underway and have the opportunity to race against the best karters in the country,” says Caleb. “Winning another national title won’t be easy, but I’m ready for the challenge and can’t wait to fight for it. Thank you to Kart Republic, my team and my family for the support.”

With his experience, raw pace, and unwavering determination, Caleb will undoubtedly be one to watch as the battle for national glory begins.
