The GTC SuperCup Championship is set for an exciting finale in Pretoria this weekend, with the season’s top drivers ready to battle it out for the championship. All eyes will be on the top-placed rookie, Tate Bishop, who has been in good form throughout the season despite facing some frustrating challenges. Bishop has been consistent in his performances of late, and while he has no chance of winning the championship, he will be looking to secure his first victory of the season.
Boasting two podium finishes and a host of top-five finishes, the multiple-karting champion and Sparco brand ambassador has shown his talent against the more experienced and celebrated drivers. With the title race effectively between two drivers, fans eagerly await Bishop’s maiden win amid a closely-contested 2023 championship.
“It hasn’t been a phenomenal season by any means, with some early challenges impeding my chance of fighting for wins. We also made a team change during the season and are technically based here in Pretoria, which saw us starting fresh. The change, however, was a good one as we made progress quickly, although we were still somewhat off the pace of the front runners. Since then we have made small strides and I don’t want to finish the season as the top-placed rookie only, I want to be a 2023 GTC SupaCup race winner. So I’m all in this weekend,” stated Bishop.
Three practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, with Qualifying preceding Saturday’s two races. Spectators are welcomed with tickets available for purchase at the entrance to the circuit.
