This weekend, Farhaan Basha will compete in Round 4 of the CompCare Polo Cup Championship at the Aldo Scribante Racetrack, Gqeberha. He is hopeful of securing a place on the podium once again.
The QVWI Motorsport driver currently holds the fifth spot in the championship standings. He has achieved a third-place finish and two further top-five finishes. During his last Polo Cup race at the Eastern Cape circuit in 2021, Basha secured a ninth-place finish in one of the two races held at the “home of VW Motorsport.”
“It’s exciting to head back to Aldo,” said Basha. “It’s a great circuit which offers some overtaking opportunities. I haven’t been around there in a Polo in two seasons, and if I recall, we had an average result last time out. With more experience and a more substantial chance of doing well, we are confident this time around. Qualifying will be key again, so we will focus on making it into the top-six SuperPole Shootout. From there, hopefully, a good starting position and then a chance at fighting at the front.”
Three practice sessions on Friday will precede qualifying, followed by two races on Saturday. Tickets will be sold at the circuit entrance, with a live stream feed available on the Extreme Festival Facebook page.
