Goscor Lift Trucks sponsored Arnold Neveling secured third place in both GTC SupaCup races at Killarney International Raceway over the weekend. Neveling, no stranger to the Western Cape circuit, returned to Cape Town for the return leg and penultimate round of the championship.
After qualifying in fourth on Saturday morning, Neveling, who races out of the Stradale Motorsport stable, improved his position over the ten-lap race, passing local driver Taste Bishop to claim the first of two podium finishes. While he didn’t record the fastest lap of the race, his pace was such that he was less than a tenth off the quickest lap time of race winner Brad Liebenberg.
In the second race, he started in third again and finished in the same position, but this time, he was much closer to Liebenberg, the winner of the first race.
“Finishing on the podium again is excellent for the team and the sponsors. While I was not as quick as Jonathan (Mogotsi) and Bradley (Liebenberg), my pace was not too far off. In this class, however, it’s also difficult to pass anyone, so even if I had a little extra in that last race, I’m sure Brad would have made it difficult. Nonetheless, we head to the final round at Zwartkops, where hopefully, we’ll find a bit more in the setup. Congrats to the winners, and thank you to Goscor Lift Trucks, Pagid Racing and Stradale Motorsport,” stated Neveling.
The final round of the championship resumes on 13-14 October at Zwartkops Raceway.
