Diego Antunes, competing in only his second Mini ROK regional event, will be one of the drivers vying for the top spot in the U/10 class this weekend as the penultimate round of the MSA Northern Regions ROK Kart Championship resumes.
As the championship makes a welcome return to the Vereeniging Kart Circuit after a long absence, it will be the first time Antunes competes there in the Mini ROK class, having done so only as a Bambino driver. Regardless, Antunes has shown great courage as he stepped up from the Bambino class to Kid ROK and Mini ROK, all in the span of several months. While still very young, the nine-year-old has shown exceptional maturity and skill. This weekend continues to serve as preparation for his 2024 season.
Saturday morning will see a ten-minute Warm Up Session (08:34) followed by a Qualifying Session (10:21). Three 12-lap heats (12:10, 14:55 and 17:03) will conclude the day’s racing.
