The Formula-K Kart Circuit in Gauteng will host the second round of MSA’s National ROK Cup Karting Championship. Luhan De Wet, currently leading the Cadet championship, is determined to win again this weekend and strengthen his position in the overall standings.
De Wet enters the second round with a three-point cushion over Kyle Bezuidenhout, having taken two of the three victories at the opening round in Gqeberha precisely two months ago. The field of competitors has since doubled and sees six entries to the previous three. Cadet competitors will compete for honours over 12 laps around the 750m anti-clockwise Track-A layout.
“I will aim for that top spot again this weekend,” said De Wet. “Once you taste victory, it becomes addictive, and I can’t think of anything else. Happy to see a few more karts on the grid this weekend, but hoping to always be at the front of the field. It is crucial to score maximum points before the mid-championship break. With my team and sponsors backing me, I am confident we can take the victory again.”
On Friday, five official practice sessions will precede the afternoon’s qualifying set to start at 3:35 PM. On Saturday, three race heats are scheduled for 9:50 AM, 11:54 AM, and 1:57 PM.
