Sparco brand ambassador Tate Bishop will make his Global Touring Cars (GTC) SupaCup circuit debut at Zwartkops Raceway this weekend as the Extreme Festival returns to its home circuit for the first time since the start of the 2023 season.
Tate Bishop of ANGRi Racing had a great 2022 CompCare Polo Cup season, finishing in the top five. In 2023, he joined the one-manufacturer SupaCup class in South Africa’s premier racing series. Although a rookie in this class, Bishop is a multiple national karting champion and an experienced saloon-car driver. During his Polo Cup campaign in 2022, he achieved two podium finishes at the Pretoria circuit.
After two rounds, the ANGRi Racing Kart Academy instructor is currently ranked fifth in the championship standings. Therefore, all focus will be on improving his position in the championship this weekend. Additionally, they have teamed up with seasoned race driver Lee Thompson and will compete under the Lee Thompson Racing banner for the remainder of the season.
Please note that Round 3 will consist of three practice sessions on Friday at 09:10, 12:55, and 15:30. The qualifying session will take place on Saturday morning at 08:55, followed by two races scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 12:10 and 15:55. All races will be live-streamed on the Extreme Festival Facebook page, so be sure to tune in and not miss a single moment.
