Mikel Bezuidenhout is set to make his mark this weekend as he lines up on the grid for the inaugural round of the all-new Investchem MSA4 single-seater championship at the legendary Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

After a successful Formula 1600 rookie season, during which the Sandton teenager was named the 2024 Rookie of the Year, the curtain came down on the series, making way for the safer and more advanced MSA4 cars. Mikel enters the new season with a full year of single-seater experience and a clear goal: to fight at the front from the very first lap.

Adding to the excitement, Mikel will lead the charge for the brand-new Corsa dei Gemelli race team. He’ll be joined by fellow Senior MAX karter Kian Spies, who races out of the Xtreme Racing Team alongside Mikel. The duo will look to quickly establish the team as a competitive force in South Africa’s latest premier single-seater series.

While many drivers are simply thrilled to race at Kyalami, a circuit steeped in international motorsport history, Mikel returns with unfinished business. He debuted at the famed track in 2024 and is eager to show his growth since then.

“Last year was all about learning as much as I could, but this season, it’s about pushing forward and delivering results,” said Bezuidenhout. “I’ve worked hard in the off-season and I’m ready to show what I’m capable of at Kyalami.”

The race weekend kicks off on Thursday with two practice sessions, followed by a final session on Friday morning. Qualifying takes place later on Friday, setting the grid for Saturday’s opening race. The final race of the weekend rounds out the action on Saturday afternoon.

Fans can catch all the action trackside at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, with tickets available via Computicket. A live stream will be available on race day on the link below for those watching from home.
