Fresh off an exceptional 2024 season, 16-year-old Jayden Goosen is set to debut in the highly competitive ATE VW Challenge. The opening round takes place this weekend at Zwartkops Raceway, where Jayden aims to immediately impact Class A, the top class of the series.

Jayden arrives in the VW Challenge with impressive credentials, claiming the 2024 INEX Legend Pro Class title and the overall championship spoils. While this may be his rookie campaign in the VW Challenge, his proven pace and racecraft suggest he will be more than capable of challenging the established frontrunners.

The 2025 ATE VW Challenge calendar consists of eight rounds at some of southern Africa’s most iconic circuits, including the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, Red Star Raceway, Zwartkops Raceway, and a unique international stop at Maputo’s International Raceway. Each event promises fierce competition, particularly in Class A, where Jayden will face a grid packed with seasoned veterans eager to defend their turf.

Backed by Ferro Energia, AA Certified Pre-Owned, OMP and ATS Motorsport Supplies, Jayden will have the support he needs to navigate the demands of a new championship. His move from the slower VW Rookie Cup to a much faster, closely contested VW Challenge field highlights his rapid ascent through the ranks of South African motorsport.

“I’m excited to get the season started and measure myself against some of the best drivers in the series,” said Jayden ahead of the season opener. “The step up to Class A is a big challenge, but I’m ready to give it everything I have and learn as much as possible.”

With a blend of youthful enthusiasm and a championship pedigree, all eyes will be on Jayden as he begins his new journey. If his past performances are any indication, he could well be the wildcard that shakes up Class A this season.

Practice begins on Friday, with Qualifying at 09:00 on Saturday. Two 10-lap races, at 11:40 and 15:05, will follow.
