This weekend marks the highly anticipated start of the 2025 DOE Formula Vee partnered with CIM Lubri Fuel Championship at Zwartkops Raceway, where the Kempton Park teenager, Tjaden Tromp, is geared to make his mark. Coming off an impressive rookie season in 2024, the young driver is stepping into the Formula Vee Association Championship with his sights firmly set on challenging for the class title.

Tjaden recently joined other Formula Vee drivers at the prestigious Passion for Speed Festival, where they were invited to celebrate Formula Vee South Africa’s 60th anniversary. The event provided a valuable opportunity for drivers to fine-tune their setups and gain additional seat time ahead of the official season opener. With extra preparation under his belt, Tjaden is focused and ready to take on the competition.

“I’m incredibly grateful to my sponsors, especially Pretoria Noord Toyota, for their support this season. I’m determined to do my best and challenge for the title,” said Tromp ahead of the opening round.

As the youngest driver on the grid, Tjaden faces a competitive field but remains confident in his ability to deliver strong results. With a year of experience behind him, he’s eager to build on his rookie success and make his presence known in the championship battle.

The race weekend starts with practice on Friday, followed by qualifying and two action-packed races on Saturday. Spectators are welcome to attend, with tickets available through the Zwartkops Raceway website at https://www.zwartkops.co.za/event-tickets/.

Tjaden is backed by Pretoria Noord Toyota, Solergy Solutions, Man vs Machine, Solar Charge Solutions, Renogy South Africa and Basically Branding.
