Round 2 of the Lime Property Management Power Series at the Killarney International Raceway on Saturday 22 February 2025 saw the return of the popular APi Property GTi Challenge and Laude Classic Cars, the Kaltron Fine Cars and Bejo Trustees Formula Libre.

On paper total entries hit 193 despite many being away for the Zwartkops SAES event but sadly the Seal Pro Winelands SBK brigade shrunk dramatically and one can only wish those affected a speedy recovery. Eleven categories and twenty races represented a full program in typical February sunny weather. Red flags and shortened races have seemingly now become part of the program but somehow that does not compliment events.

Bejo Trustees Formula Libre 2×10 Laps
Storm Lanfear won overall in his 27S Mantella/RDSA FVW Reynard with Joshua Smit a somewhat surprising 2nd overall in his 83V S&S Racing Rhema 2. Kelly Fletcher 3rd in her 22V Dolphin Engineering Racing Forza with Ricky Anderson 4th in his 96 N&W Logistics Forza. James Beaumont 5th in the 21 iSquared Technologies Forza and the top six completed by Donovan Ramsay in his 95 Kerston Foods Rhema.

Ricky Anderson assisted Benjack Philips into a brief orbit around Pertamina fastron but both continued whilst the snow white 21S FVW Dolphin Engineering Racing Reynard of Byron Mitchell did not perform faultless.

We wish Dirk Booysen (Father of Dee-Jay Booysen) a speedy recovery and it is anticipated that they will be back for the next round.

BATT Tech STC 650 & SSP 300 MC 1×8 1×9 Laps
A great three way tussle for overall victory was spoiled when Adrian Solomon went down in Castrol on the 4 Pool King Kawasaki ER650 and this left Nicholas Hutchings to win on the 72 HSC Racing Suzuki SV650 with Max Munto second on his 14 SunScan Kawasaki ER650. Reinhardt Burnett 3rd on his 54 Subsidium IT Kawasaki ER650 and in 4th spot it was a hard charging Abigail Bosson on the 51 Project Sixty Kawasaki ER650.

Raymond Alexander winning SSP 300 in 5th spot with his 11 Rayder Cycles Kawasaki Ninja 400 with Bradley Mustoe second on his KTM RC390 and in third it was Mitch Robinson on the 71 Mag Workshop Kawasaki Ninja 390.

Kaltron Supercars 2×8 Laps
Glen Phillips set pole just before seizing the engine on his 33 Opel Supercar then Ryan Kat looked very good in the 11 Kaltron Opel Supercar before retiring with a misfire and the Andrew Moffitt disappeared in the 39 Opel Supercar.
Kyle Hallick taking overall victory in his 31 Pro Oil Opel Supercar with Brad Fenner 2nd with the 2nd 9 Pro Oil Opel Supercar for a fine team result. Nashrene Schloss 3rd in the VCiB Insurance Brokers Opel Supercar and she was followed home by Leon Chetty in the 15 Dynamic Opel Supercar and Sandra Bekker in her 96 Brandtegrity Opel Supercar.

Kaltron Fine Cars 2×8 Laps
On track there was an entertaining “Tussle” between the 43 N2 Towing BMW 328i of Zack Groenewald and the 58 Lambert Racing VW Beetle of Dewald Lambert and the colourful red and green cars had visions of the animated CARS making this somehow pleasing to watch. On track the Beemer beat Herbie but it was Dewald Lambert who took the Index of Performance victory in the VW Beetle.

Stephen Whitehead survived a blown headgasket during the week to place his 156 Mini Clubman GTS 1275 second on Index with Roger Lewis and the never say die 1 MGA in third spot. Natasha Tischendorf 4th in her 285 VW Jetta MkI, Günther Appelgryn 5th in his neat 13 Appelgryn Trading BMW E36 325i and the top six completed by Justin Brown in his Rob Tissington 41 Austin Healy Sprite.

Pirelli MGA Racing Clubman, Classic, Breakfast Run MC 1×8 1×9 Laps
Small entry with Zander Taljaard taking overall victory aboard his 888 Clubman Toyota Joubertina/ Kareedouw Konstruksie Honfa CBR600RR with the SBK Classic 65 MGA Racing Suzuki SRAD750 of Jamie Hall second and pole sitter Norman McFadden 3rd aboard his 369 Yamaha R6. Juan Momberg fourth on his Clubman 9 Motorwise Suzuki GSXR750 with Wayne Gresse 5th on the Clubman 95 Kawasaki ZX10R and in sixth spot it was Ryan Smuts aboard his Clubman 30 Honda CBR1000RR. Gerhard Joubert the only Breakfast Runner to finish aboard hs 47 Triumph Daytona 675. Hendrik Schelhase the first faller of the day with his 97b Honda CBR600.

API Property GTi Challenge 1×8 1×6 Laps
Schalk Geldenhuys took overall honours in the 10A G&A Motorsport VW Polo 6R from Oliver Hintenaus in his 76A Coastal Engineering Supplies VW Polo 6R and Ian Kapp 3rd in his 65A Hydracor Hydraulics VW Polo 6R. A somewhat strange podium as Nathan Victor set pole position in the 71ASummit Racing VW Polo 6R but retired from H1 before winning H2 whilst 4th placed John-Henri Vaughan was perhaps the most unfortunate as he was assisted into the Pertamina Fastron scenery with his 32A MAPS Racing VW Polo6R also showing scars from contact in Damps Dip.

Mohammed T Khalfey 5th overall in his 14B MAD Performance VW Polo 6 and in 6th spot it was Shaun Liebenberg in the 75B Liebentech Wine Services VW Polo 6. Mark Fontini impressive in 7th overall with the 31C Goch&Cooper VW Golf MkI 1.8 with Ross Schröder 8th in his 16C API Property Group VW Golf MkI 1.8 and in 9th it was Adriano ferroli in his 4C Ferroli Performance Centre VW Golf MkI 1.8. Tristan Joubert 10th in his 90C Powder Coating World VW Golf MkI 1.8.
By normal GTi standards a fairly incident free day of racing.

Spirit Invest Sport & GT Cars 1×7 1×10 Laps
Troy Dolinschek and APT Racing attacked H1 with one goal, to set a new official outright lap record on the 3.267km Killarney International Raceway and the 43 S1 APT Racing Ginetta G57 LMP2 was willing. A 1min06.709 lap at an average speed of 176.306km/h saw the car parked for the day as it was mission accomplished!

Dawie Joubert (18B Wild Rose Gin Lotus Exige VW) and Sandro Biccari (3B Juno VW) provided the action in the two heats with a titanic tussle for overall victory eventually going to Dawie with Sandro second. Oliver Hintenaus made life interesting for himself by spinning the little Batmobile 76A Coastal Engineering Supplies Ligier-Ford JS coming out of Hoals and though he was clearly enjoying the fightback he could do no better than 3rd overall for the day.

Renzo Torrente 4th in the much improved 86B ATM Chiptuning BMW M4 GT4 with Tristan de Nobrega also showing more pace in 5th spot with his 70C Racing Spirit BMW M3. Yanni Hatzi 6th in the weezing 28C Nissan S14 Turbo. Divan Luzmore 7th overall in the 99D GT Clubsport Nissan 350Z followed by Simeon Penev in his 77C Nioro Plastics Nissan 350Z. Juan Stander 9th overall on debut in his neat looking 29X Old Oil Boys Ligier JS53 Evo and the top ten completed by Eric Salomon in the legendary 23C Eric Louis Fred Toyota 23.

Josh Broome was caught out by mixed tyres on his rapid 36 S1 Siptfire Furnitue Radical SR8m scooping mouthfuls of sand on the outside of Pertamina Fastron whilst Connor Kilbride had to park his 42A Racing Spirit BMW M3 with an engine fire. André Johnson quietly stepped up the pace on debut in the 8X Mazda RX8.

BMW CCCT Series 2×8 Laps
Marco Retter claimed overall victory in his 50A Progress Precision Engineering BMW E46 Turbo with Mansoor Parker 2nd in his 46B Jive/Armien Levy/Parkers Parts BMW E46 Turbo and class D winner Baby Jacobs 3rd overall in his 42D Executive Decisions BMW M3.

Nian du Toit looked the favourite until he shifted to second instead of fourth coming out of Hoals Hoek and the 20A NDT Racing BMW E36 328 Turbo was parked after H1 with damaged valves.

Dexter Bruce incurred a 30sec jump start penalty but still mamaged 4th overall in his 143D MYH Motorsport BMW M3 followed by Dillon Joubert in the hard working 444D Powder Coating World/TAC Steel/Euroblitz BMW 330i. James King enjoyed every lap enroute to 6th overall in the 7E Kings Auto Body BMW E46 with Ernest Page 7th in his 19E CRA Racing BMW E36 328i. Connor Kilbride 8th in his 142E Racing Spirit BMW E36 328i whilst Yusuf Hendricks found himself in 9th with the 66E MYH Motorsport BMW E36 328i. The top ten completed by Brian Dark in his 22F Orchard Engineering BMW E36 328i.
Classes D,E,F well supported but a need to grow the heavy hitters beyond Nian du Toit and Marco Retter.

Pirelli Seal Pro Winelands SBK, SBK Challenge, Masters, 600cc MC 1×7 1×9 Laps
Slade van Niekerk claimed overall victory aboard his 111 Project Sixty Kawasaki ZX10R with poleman Ronald Slamet second on his 68 RSRA Yamaha R1 and Malcolm Rapson third on his 46 Racebase Suzuki GSXR1000. After such a promising start to the 2025 season the series was still reeling from the unfortunate spate of accidents and its showed in the sudden lack of numbers.

Visiting Jonny Towers claimed 4th overall aboard his 17 Missile Motorcycles Honda CBR600 with Wayne Arendse in 5th aboard his 33 SBK Challenge KawasakiZX10R and in 6th it was Gauteng visitor Peron Parasamaren on his colourful 10 SBK Challenge Kawasaki ZX10R. Ethan Diener the second 600cc home in 9th spot on his 3 The Mag Workshop Yamaha R6.

Laude Classic Cars 2×8 Laps
Franco Donadio set pole on 1min22.633 and won the first heat as expected, but then showed signs of gear selection problems in the second heat, dropping to second with Michael Hitchcock driving neatly to overall victory in the 67A Cross Cape Forklift Services Ford Mustang Notchback V8. The 32A Donadio Plant Hire Chevrolet Can Am V8 settling for second spot with a loose gearlever and old tyres at least keeping it from breaking out in lap times.

Providing the race of the day was the two neat Ford Capri V6 entries of Trevor Momberg and Jarryd Evans. Now proudly wearing the number 1A the “73B” A&E Auto and All Scale Capri of Trevor Momberg was shadowed by the 414B Cape Eye Laser Capri of Jarryd Evans and though they finished in this order it was an entertaining cat and mouse game throughout both 8 lap heats. And this was the first round of 2025!

As back up Brian Evans finished fifth overall in his neat 441B Cape Eye Laser Ford Escort MkI with “returnee” Wayne Rosser sixth in his neat 94X VW Golf GTi MkII. Ferdi Mouton entertained the crowd with a spin before recovering to seventh in his 68B Cross Cape Forklift Services Ford Mustang Notchback V8 with Robert Rowe as shadow in the Martini 11C Veldt Reared BMW 325iS. The 55D Yesterday’s Heroes Nissan Skyline GTX of Theo Klaassen looked good on track and 9th overall was well deserved with Jan Koekemoer completing the top ten in his neat 17C Mazda RX7.

Glen Uytenbogaardt did not have a great day behind the wheel of the 66A Cross Cape Forklift Services Ford Granada Perana V8 whilst the much anticipated debut of the Springbok based 72X Ford Fairmont GT V8 of Boetie van Zyl did not happen at all as cracks was discovered in the wheel rims. Jaco Oosthuizen gave his opponents an unfair advantage by trying to complete the races with the bonnet splattered over the windscreen of his 127D Ravenol Toyota Conquest 1.8. Charles Arton sported new colours on his 70C Redwood Porsche 914 but a misfire saw him retire to the pits as did Dave Rowley in the rapid 148D Flat 4 Racing VW Beetle.

Thermo Fires Clubman Saloons 1×6 Laps
Limited to one six lap heat for the results after heat two was canned at the end of the program due to limited time and a suspected turbo fire on the 34B Thermo Fires VW Jetta MkIII of series sponsor Steven Gouws.

Steven Heydenrych started the day as favourite for outright victory in the 1A Origen Oil / Autopro Nissan Skyline 2.5 Turbo but an on board fire saw him park the car and a red flag delayed the first heat which then only ran six laps in total. Shane Smith and Kyle Visser then set about trying to outwit each other on track with the 22A Truckport Logistics BMW E36 Turbo beating the 337A Charl Engineering VW Polo of Kyle Visser to the line by just 0.037seconds for the closest finish of the day. The incredibly quick 64A New Engineering VW Golf MkI 1.8 of Michael le Sueur in a mighty third overall.

Jaco Lambert as always quietly driving the 29B Lawntech VW Polo 1.8 to fourth spot and Steven Gouws fifth in the 34B Thermo Fires VW Jetta MkIII Turbo. Gary Smith taking sixth in the second 71B Truckport Logistics BMW E36. Paul Munnik and his 79B Paul’s Audi VW Auto Clinic VW Golf MkI seventh with Mia Bensch eighth in her 110C Virtual5 BMW E36. Dillon Joubert ninth in the neat 444X Powder Coating World/TAC Steel/Euroblitz BMW E46 330i and the top ten completed by David Vermaak in his 27D AbsorbItAll BMW E36 328i.

Bernard Lehmann won class E in his 83E Opel Corsa 2.0 with Adam Omar claiming class F in his 24F FS Transport/ MAD Performance VW Golf MkI.

Unfortunately with the program already running past 18h00 and yet another red flag the second heat was not contested.
