Chloe Stuart, one of South Africa’s leading female motorsport competitors, has had an impressive 2024 season. Competing in single-seaters and karting, young Chloe concluded her season by being crowned the 2024 DOE Formula Vee Rookie Champion.

When Chloe isn’t karting, the fifteen-year-old fearlessly competes with the boys in her Formula Vee. After a remarkable stint in Formula Monoposto in 2022, where she topped Class C and was named driver of the year, she had another impressive season in 2023, finishing as runner-up in Class B. Since then, Chloe has sharpened her skills and elevated her racing performance, achieving an impressive top-six finish in the DOE Formula Vee Association Championship and securing 14th overall in the Doe Formula Vee National Challenge.

The season, contested over eight thrilling rounds, challenged drivers as they showcased their skills across three provinces. With five rounds in Gauteng—including four at the dynamic Zwartkops Raceway and one at the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit—competitors pushed their limits. Two rounds unfolded at the exhilarating Red Star Raceway in Mpumalanga, while a single “away” round at the legendary Killarney International Raceway in the Western Cape added to the adventure.

Chloe’s award is a powerful testament to her extraordinary journey, marked by six thrilling race victories and seven remarkable podium finishes, as she boldly claimed another circuit title. Her success is a reminder that no achievement is made alone; she has been supported throughout the season by LMS Electrical, National Energy Solutions, and Basically Branding. Additionally, the unwavering support of sponsors like CIM, Solergy, Victron Energy, PTA Noord Toyota, and several smaller sponsors has been instrumental in her triumphs.

“It’s been a phenomenal year,” stated Chloe. “To be racing a Formula Vee, which has so much history, is exhilarating. The Formula Vee Association has also been tremendously supportive, and I am truly grateful for all they have done to make this a successful series. As one of the youngest drivers on the grid and the only female, it can be quite daunting to be amongst all the boys, but if motorsport has taught me anything, it is that when the visor comes down, it’s just you and the car and that your destiny is in your hands. Of course, I could not have achieved any of this without my family’s support and several sponsors’ financial backing. Thank you to everyone.”

Chloe’s future appears promising as she navigates her karting and circuit racing career. Although she has not finalised any specific commitments, her involvement in various events will surely provide her valuable experience and exposure. For instance, she participated in the Tillotson T4 Nations Cup, representing South Africa in Spain this season.

As Chloe makes strides in her racing career, attracting the attention of sponsors will become increasingly important. She must showcase not just her driving abilities but also her personality, professionalism, and commitment to the sport. If she can capture the interest of sponsors, it will provide her with the resources she needs to advance her career even further.

Overall, with continued improvement and strategic participation in events, Chloe has the potential to become a standout driver in the motorsport community, breaking barriers and inspiring future generations of female racers.
