Investchem Formula 1600 driver Mikel Bezuidenhout ended his rookie season with a top six overall result at the final round of the Extreme Festival at Zwartkops Raceway on 19 October.
After Mikel qualified his Mygale in seventh for the first of two races on Saturday, the Johannesburg teenager claimed two sixth-place finishes despite facing some challenges with his setup throughout the weekend. But his skill and determination shone through again as he continued to impress with an improved second half of the season. Mikel will take up a new challenge in 2025 as the series swops to the MSA4 racecar.
“It’s been a challenging season of ups and downs. But more importantly, it’s been an opportunity to learn and gain some experience ahead of 2025 and the new MSA4 car. The circuits were all new to me and I can at least tick that box ahead of what is going to be an exciting season. We are already preparing for next year and will reveal more in due course. Thank you to all my sponsors, my family and my team for the hard work,” said Mikel.
Mikel extends his thanks to MTN Cosmo-Net, Motorsport Fanatix and Huawei Mobile South Africa.
