On 12 October, the highly anticipated round of the Mobil 1 V8 Supercars at Red Star Raceway will unfold, with 2023 champion Julian Fameliaris in the spotlight as he remains on track to defend his title.

As the championship heads to Delmas for the penultimate round, the Lube-Net-backed Chevrolet Corvette driver carries a significant 30-point lead into the weekend. Eight victories from 11 races, including a double win in the previous round at Zwartkops Raceway, set the stage for an intense battle this weekend. The championship’s earlier visit to the Mpumalanga-located circuit also crowned Fameliaris as the day’s overall winner, following another brace of wins.

“The championship is not over, and I won’t be resting on any laurels this weekend. While the objective is obviously to retain my title, my focus this weekend will be to win both races. We have a strong record at Red Star, but as most know, anything can happen. Til now, the car has been great, and the team have put in the effort. So I will approach this weekend as I would any other,” said Fameliaris.

The weekend begins with three practice sessions on Friday before a qualifying session on Saturday morning. Two races will determine the overall winner on the day. Spectators can obtain tickets at the gate upon entry to the venue.
