This weekend marks the halfway point of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championships. Bambino driver and championship leader Alonzo de Oliveira will make his second regional appearance at Zwartkops Kart Raceway, just outside Pretoria.
The Johannesburg driver leads the championship with a three-point advantage over his rival, Sebastian Shuttleworth. Alonzo has had an excellent start to the season, finishing on the podium in every heat so far. Additionally, the Trinityhouse Glenvista pupil has won six out of the nine heats in 2024 and hopes to extend his lead as the competition reaches its halfway mark.
An open practice will be on Friday, with qualifying and racing scheduled for Saturday. Spectators are welcome, and entry is free of charge.
