Less than a week after competing in the Investchem Formula 1600 single-seater championship, Mikel Bezuidenhout is back in a kart, ready to contend for the regional Senior MAX title once again. This weekend, the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championships return to Vereeniging Raceway for Round 3 of its competition.
Mikel will head to Vereeniging filled with confidence after a stellar display at the previous round of the competition, which was hosted at the same venue. The Johannesburg driver recorded his maiden heat victory and his season’s best results to occupy third in the championship standings. He will no doubt be looking to continue that strong form this weekend.
“It’s been a busy few weeks,” said Mikel. “But as a motorsport enthusiast it’s a good problem to have I guess. We had good pace at the last event there and we’re hoping that we can replicate that although no two races are ever the same. But regardless, we will be giving it our all and hoping for the best.”
Racing gets underway on Saturday and spectators are welcomed.
