Get ready for an adrenaline-packed weekend as the Toyota Gazoo Racing Junior Academy (TGRJA) heads to the Vereeniging Raceway for the third round of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championships.
The academy is not just a racing team; it’s a beacon of dedication, committed to nurturing the next generation of motorsport champions. The academy provides a comprehensive training environment where young, promising drivers can hone their racing skills, develop strategic thinking, and build the resilience needed to excel in high-pressure scenarios.
Tshepang Shisinwana, the youngest driver among the academy drivers, will continue his quest to become the best in the Mini MAX class. The former national champion has had a solid start to his season, securing three podium finishes out of six heats, and is currently third in the regional points standings.
In the Senior MAX category, Kent Swartz, the current national Junior MAX Champion, aims to maintain his dominance as he leads the championship standings with two victories and three runner-up finishes after two rounds. Both those victories also came in the last round at the same venue.
Jason Coetzee and Karabo Malemela will spearhead the academy in the premier DD2 class, with the duo occupying second and third place on the championship table. The pairing also had indifferent starts to their season, with Coetzee recording two wins and two further podiums versus Malemela’s two podiums.
