Chloe Stuart anticipates a strong performance in this coming weekend’s (10-11 May) DOE Formula Vee Partnered with CIM Lubricants third round of the 2024 Championship, to be held at Red Star Raceway.
The youngest female driver on the grid and Victron Energy South Africa brand ambassador showed good pace in this year’s first two rounds. While mechanical issues influenced Round 2’s results, she is confident the coming weekend will see her deliver an even stronger performance.”
“Each time we go onto the circuit, we feel better prepared for the next race.” Says Stuart. “While we realise that miracles will happen overnight, it does instil a feeling of confidence knowing that it is a circuit we were able to prepare for properly. The switch to Formula Vee happened so rapidly at the beginning of the year. One day, you are still prepared for one category; the next, you’re getting ready for a debut in another. Kyalami, of course, did not have any viable private testing opportunities available beforehand, so now we can definitely head into the weekend with a greater understanding of what to expect.”
Stuart, who drives for the TC Racing team, is confident that her prior experience at Red Star Raceway will also be advantageous. Before making her Formula Vee debut, she competed in the Formula Monoposto series that regularly visited the circuit.
“Red Star has never been easy, but it is a circuit where we always recorded good results. While I won’t speculate on positions, I believe there will be opportunities to make some strides forward.”
Saturday’s first race will be contested over eight laps and will start at 10:55, while the second 10-lap race is scheduled for 14:40. Spectator tickets will be available at the Red Star Raceway entrance gate. The full Extreme Festival race day programme will also be broadcast live via the Extreme Festival Facebook page and 2WheelsTV YouTube channel.
