2023 karting rookie Mikel Bezuidenhout, competing in the inaugural season of the OK-N class, is currently ranked third in the MSA Northern Regions ROK Karting Championship. This weekend sees the final round of the competition hosted in Vereeniging, also the venue of the last regional and national meeting.
While Bezuidenhout has had an impressive season so far, scoring eight podium finishes, five as the runner-up. The Johannesburg teenager will be keen on claiming his maiden win this weekend to wrap up a challenging but impressive season.
“Competing in the OK-N and Senior MAX classes at national and regional levels during my rookie season has been demanding. The experience has taught me that victories are not easily attainable, especially considering the high level of talent in South Africa. I have also realised that I must work hard and earn every win that comes my way. I have one final chance to achieve my goal this season,” said Bezuidenhout.
Bezuidenhout thanks MTN Cosmo-Net, Vivo Mobile South Africa and the NBR Racing Team for their support.
Race day will commence on Saturday with a Warm-Up and a Qualifying Session. Three race heats will conclude the day’s racing. Entry to the circuit is free, and spectators are welcome.
